FY 2008–2009 Results for Global Vectra Helicorp Limited, India’s largest private offshore and onshore helicopter transportation services company

GVHL’s Service Income increased to INR 2,334 million in 2008-09 as compared to INR 1,795 million in 2007-08, an increase of 30 per cent over last year. The operating margin was maintained at 26 %     inspite of substantial increase in fuel cost in the first half of the financial year and increase in operational costs. Company made Cash profit of INR 163 million excluding Fx loss & extraordinary items in 2008–2009 as compared to INR 115 million in 2007-08. Five new helicopters were added to the fleet in 2008–2009, making the current fleet size to 26 helicopters.

During the year 2008-09 the company achieved three significant milestones: 

  • A new 16,000 sq m facility was constructed at Juhu Aerodrome, Mumbai.
  • A Safety Management System (SMS) was introduced,the first time in India.
  • A fully online Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system was established.

Also, company recently acquired 3000 sqm land at Rajahmundry airport to construct Hanger to serve east coast fleet.

This year, the company diversified its activities by launching a new service called BIRDIE, an onshore division that offers convenient and comfortable helicopter charter and airport shuttle service to customers. The fleet includes small light helicopters as well as medium-sized twin engines helicopters, with a seating capacity for 4–12 passengers.

The company has also entered into a long-term MOU with BJETS. Flying across India and South-east Asia, BJETS is the first private aviation company with a holistic approach to private jet travel. Both companies work together to provide end-to-end private travel solutions to their clients.

The partnership offers innovative aviation services to the customers to help them save valuable time by empowering them with the flexibility to plan their own itinerary and route. BJETS and GVHL jointly provide private travel solutions through a prepaid hour program. Customers can purchase prepaid hour cards and use them across the BJETS and Global ‘Vectra fleet. Both companies also provide joint services to clients that fulfill all their business and personal needs.
